After falling upon this show one late night, I was reasonably impressed with the overall content and comedy of the show, and after tuning in again, I was utterly hooked on it.
Paul Kaye played by Bob Slay is a classic comedic character. The shows' comedy is original and truly amusing.
Each actor plays their role perfectly and all have their own antics and personalities. Paul gets into some interesting situations over the episodes, all extremely clever and comical.
The only complaint I have is that it's not played often enough, because I think it has the capability of being a lot more sucessful world-wide than it is.

What it flourishes from is a clean, uncomplicated narrative that knows where it is going and reaches its destination cleanly.
The ultimate conclusion is far from surprising, but the journey of getting there is both heartwarming and provoking, a potent mix of feelings.
Although, it doesn't truly come to its own until the final leg where all the bottled up emotions and gradually developed themes come to a head.

Clint Eastwood's A Perfect World centers around the tragedy that comes with the dismantlement of the family unit, depicting how broken homes often result in broken childhoods and broken futures.
At the center of the story are two characters, Robert "Butch" Hayes and Philip, who appear worlds apart one an escaped criminal, the other a typical child but are in actuality defined by a similar set of circumstances: the absence of a proper paternal figure.
In his youth, Butch grew up in a household with a criminal father and a prostitute mother. Without a nurturing mother and a dutiful father—or any sort of role model to look up to—Butch's descent into the criminal justice system was practically set in stone,….
Eastwood does great work behind and in front of the camera but Costner delivers one of his best performances here.
He's excellent especially in the last half and he shares terrific chemistry with T. Lowther, who is also really good. The relationship that forms between their two characters is unconventional for sure but it's surprisingly touching and probably my favorite part of this.
My only minor complaint is that while I love Laura Dern, her character could've been removed entirely and the only difference would be a bit tighter pace.
I was really impressed with "A Perfect World" overall, the well developed characters, excellent performances and strong direction from Eastwood just came together very well to form a really great crime thriller.
